Adopt-A-Bull Dogs

Adoption Process:

1. View our available dogs here or on our Facebook page.
2. Fill out our Adoption Application and email it to koabullies@gmail.com. If you have a specific dog you are interested in please put their name in the subject line of the email additionally if you have questions feel free to attach them to the email.
3. Someone will contact you after reviewing your application. We are unable to schedule a meet and greet without an application on file. All meet and greets are by appointment only. We do not have any walk in hours, many of our dogs live in foster homes and we need time to coordinate.
4. If we have a dog that is a good match we will schedule a meet and greet. We would like you and your family to meet the dog first , from there we can proceed with meeting other dogs and or pets if everyone in the family is a good match for our dog.
5. After the meet and greet we will schedule a home check. We have long distance options available for persons out of state. If the home check goes well we will complete the adoption.

Buddy

Buddy spent his whole life on a chain. He was neglected and abused. His collar embedded leaving no hair on his neck. He was terrified and untrusting of people. Until he was rescued by the amazing people who found him. He was fostered for a few weeks until we felt he was ready to be adopted. He was then transported up here from California. After a few weeks of TLC and training Buddy is now ready for adoption! He is about 2 years old, Neutered, Chipped, Vaccinated, and Heartworm negative. He is great with other dogs but has a hard time sharing. He will need time to adjust to living in a home and help to learn that there will always be more food. Buddy loves people including kids. He is not a fan of cats or livestock but is not aggressive. Buddy is house trained and crate trained and is a quick learner and will do anything to please you! Buddy does have some chronic back pain that flares up when playing too rough. It is managed with Anti Inflammatory, muscle relaxers and rest. I home without a rowdy dog companion would be best. He is medium sized, 50lbs.

Tommy

In January of 2020 Tommy was hit by a car in Mexico. He was a stray dog that no one loved. Someone found him after being hit but they didn’t have the resources to help him. They tried to find help, in the meantime Tommy waited 3 days on the streets in complete distress. Finally someone stepped in to help and got Tommy to the vet. They raised the funds and got him the surgery he needed and put him in a foster home until a rescue would agree to take him. That rescue was us, Koa Bully Rescue and Sanctuary.
We were told Tommy was in a foster home and healing and that when the other dog we were waiting for to be ready was they would come to Oregon together.
Fast forward to April of 2020 when Tommy and the other dog arrive. Tommy is completely emaciated. He was at least 10pounds under weight, his neuter was so infected and swollen to the size of a softball, his leg completely unusable and lame, and he had mange.. We immediately took him to our vet where we also found out his pelvis was broken and he had ringworm. His neuter was drained then repaired which cost us $800. And he also was on 4 medications to treat his infections. We spent over $2000 to get him and his friend to Oregon and were told the both would be healthy and ready. We are having to raise thousands of dollars for Tommy to heal. This poor dog has undergone so much suffering yet he still greets you with a wagging tail and happy howl every time you see him. He has an amazing spirit and is a total warrior! We won’t give up on him!

June 2020 Tommy has recovered from Ringworm and his multiple infections. Unfortunately his leg was in such bad shape it was unable to be repaired so it had to be amputated. On June 8th Tommy had his leg removed and we found he still has some type of infection as well as he is anemic. He is on 6 medications and supplements to help him get him healthy. We are 3/4 of the way through his recovery and while he is still not fully recovered, he is a fighter! Tommy continues to improve and we were able to help him because of the donations we received from our generous donors.

July 2020
Tommy is healthy and ready for adoption! He is good with other dogs but NO CATS! or Chickens. Despite having only 3 legs he is fast and determined. He loves all people especially kids. He absolutely LOVES treats and toys. He also loves to be chased and to wrestle. He is mostly house trained and crate trained. He spent his whole life outside so indoors is new to him but he loves it! He is a free spirit up for any adventure that comes his way!

Tommy is about 5 years old, neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and no current health problems. He has 3 legs but that wont slow him down!
