Longest Resident- Sandy
Sandy came to us in November 2020 along with 10 other dogs. She was going to be euthanized due to the shelter being over capacity. We believe Sandy was living in a hoarding situation or as a stray dog prior to coming to us. She is extremely shy and sensitive. Quick movements or a slight change in your tone will send her running with her tail between her legs. With that said she has come a long way since arriving here 2 years ago. She is happy and wiggly more days than not, she gets along well with large male dogs. She also loves puppies, she was a mom at least once in her life. She has not a mean bone in her body, just is very very shy and timid. Any change in routine is difficult for her so she definitely will need a very patient understanding human that will not put pressure on her. She needs a quiet home with a male dog to keep her company. She thrives when she has a stable confident male dog companion. She likes to be outside and has no destructive behaviors. Sandy is now 6 years old, as she approaches her senior years, we hope to find her a loving home that will accept her for who she is.

Turner
Turner came to us in August of 2021. Literally minutes away from being euthanized Turner was saved just in time. He was a year old at the time and really out of control! Through lots of training, maturity, and being neutered we were able to regain control of this silly boy. He is a Covid puppy so he did not receive much of the essential socialization early on and everything is very overstimulating for him. He has come such a long way learning basic commands, impulse control, and learning to trust new people. He absolutely loves to play with toys! He really likes to destroy them so he needs the most durable kind. He loves the water when its warm out, he will swim and splash in the water. He likes most dogs, but he is still learning proper greeting skills. As long as the dog is friendly and not too pushy he will make friends. He plays too rough for small dogs and would not do well with cats. We think Turner would do best in an adult only home because of his size and strength. Turner needs a strict routine and owner that will keep him in line. He will thrive with someone who is consistent and patient.

Remi
Remi is very sweet, good with people and great with small kids. She loves everyone she meets, and will jump to kiss your face immediately! She is very submissive and will listen well if you show her what you want. She loves to give you kisses and go on your lap. When introduced to other dogs she can be defensive, but with a slow and proper introduction, she does good with other dogs, just has to learn more manners when it comes to the initial greeting. She definitely has a prey drive when she sees small critters, She is young and full of energy. She will need basic obedience training and daily exercise, for her to be at her best! She has enjoyed going on long walks, runs, and hikes with the volunteers! She has separation and anxiety and does jump fences, so she will definitely need training and supervision. We suspect this could be a result from kennel stress. Please consider Remi! She is such a sweetheart!

Turner
10 months ago he narrowly escaped the euthanasia room in one of the highest kill shelters in the country. He arrived and was a huge brat. He is sweet but certainly felt he could do whatever he wanted and was what many would consider “aggressive”with other dogs. He was unaltered, confused, frustrated, and had no sense of right or wrong. He couldn’t share or be in the same space as others without becoming defensive or protective of what he deemed “his” Now after being neutered and several months of training this guy is doing fantastic! He is playful with other dogs, and accepting that he can’t always do whatever he wants. He is extraordinarily smart and even more loving. He still has some learning to do but is well worth the work! He won’t let you down! We recommend a home without cats and children should be 8 years or older. He needs someone willing to put time and training into him. No cats or small dogs.
Neutered, Chipped, UTD on Vaccines. $250 adoption fee. . -------- Conoce a Turner! No gatos or perros pequenos. |

Ferdinand
Looking for a good guard dog? Ferdinand is your guy! Ferdinand is a 2yr old English mastiff/Great Dane mix, he’s huge! Despite his intimidating image, Ferdinand is nothing but an xxl puppy! He’s such a goof ball and has been doing great with basic obedience training! He enjoys playing in the water, going on walks, attending doggy daycare, and has never caused any trouble, he just wants to play! Overall Ferdinand has a great temperament but will need some more training. He’s is super sweet, but is weary of strangers at first, specially men. Treats seem to win him over pretty easily so far! But he will definitely some more desensitization when it comes to men. Ferdinand should be with a breed experienced adopter. He is protective over his food so young kids are not a good fit. He gets along with dogs all sizes. Cats unknown. Non reactive to farm animals. Come check him out!
Koda
At 5 months old this boy is 51 pounds! He is gonna be a big boy! Koda is extremely smart and a people pleaser! He is house trained, kennel trained, good on a leash, knows basic commands. He loves all people but has a particular fondness of men. He needs a strict leader that will reinforce boundaries as he enters adolescents. He has been professionally trained but will need continued training. Koda struggles with dominance with other dogs and can be reactive. Not with all dogs but he will not back down to a dog if challenged. There for we believe he will be best as an only dog. He has several dog friends and is not aggressive with other dogs he just needs to live as an only child.
